Geophysics is shortlisted by the UK Government as a profession in high demand, yet not known amongst physics teachers. This session explains what geophysics is: the application of physics to study planet Earth, addressing volcanism, earthquakes, resources, space weather, climate and environmental challenges; and why Geophysics matters for a sustainable future.

There’s a lot of misconceptions around teaching learners with special educational needs. Different schools expect to see different things, sometimes things that don’t help the learners or the teacher! This (research informed) workshop aims to give you a range of strategies that you can apply to your own teaching to improve your practice and make your lessons more accessible (and keep your workload down).
