Science teachers and A level students are aware that our planet faces many problems, however, they often do not know that the discipline of Geophysics is well placed offering the appropriate, quantative skill set to study and understand our planet. Geophysicists will be needed more than ever to help tackle our society's most pressing challenges, including the energy transition towards a low-carbon future, ensuring global food and water security, and providing solutions to natural hazards such as earthquakes, volcanism, space weather and climate change.
