Tackling misconceptions at KS2-3 using the BEST approach
Saturday November 16, 2024 11:30am - 12:30pm GMT
What’s the BEST way to tackle common misconceptions in science? This session explores the free resources from the Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) project, developed from research evidence by experts at the University of York Science Education Group (UYSEG) and the Centre for Industry Education Collaboration (CIEC). The BEST resources provide diagnostic questions and follow-up activities that target common misconceptions in KS2 and KS3 science topics, to help teachers embed effective formative assessment in lessons, challenge misconceptions, develop understanding of key science ideas, and improve the transition from primary to secondary science.
